Clarence “Wayne” Junk, 76, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Rensselaer, IN, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2018.

The family will hold services at a later date in Indiana. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Wayne’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 174 East Bay St, Suite 300, Charleston, SC 29401.

Wayne was born November 4, 1941 in Kahoka, MO, a son of the late Clarence Oscar Junk and Anna Belle Wear Junk. He graduated from Kahoka High School in 1960, and honorably served in the United States Air Force as an Aircraft Technician from 1961 until 1965. He worked as a Television Service Technician at Eilers Home Electric, C & L Radio & TV, and Fase’s TV & Appliance. He was the owner and operator of C & L Radio & TV and K/C Electronics Service. Wayne worked as a Customer Service Engineer at RCA Consumer Electronics, and retired after 10 years from Viskase Corporation as an Electronics Technician.

Wayne married the love of his life, Joyce L. Griffin, on June 2, 1963. They enjoyed wintering in Thomasville, GA, before moving to Summerville, SC. Wayne loved to play golf, and was a member of Oak Grove Country Club in Oxford, IN and Country Oaks Golf Course in Thomasville, GA. He was a member of several bowling leagues. Wayne loved to travel in an RV, spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed going to his grandchildren’s ball games.

In addition to his wife of 55 years, Joyce Lynne Griffin Junk of Summerville, SC, Wayne leaves behind three sons, Kenny Junk (Danielle), Keith Junk (Katie), all of Rensselaer, IN, and Kevin Junk of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Margaret Smith of Lambertville, MI; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence O. and Anna Belle Junk; and a sister, Fern Howard.
