Elaine (Giovanna) Hudgins

Elaine Giovanna Hudgins, 89, of Summerville, widow of Joseph Alvin Hudgins, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018.

A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2018, in New Hope U.M.C. Churchyard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doc Williams S.P.C.A., P.O. Box 565 Goose Creek, SC 29445.

Elaine was born on October 1, 1928 in New Orleans, LA, a daughter of the late Emile J. Giovanna and Alta Majesty Giovanna.  Elaine was a member and worked in the office of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church where she also taught Sunday school. She also retired after 20 years working at the Navy Exchange in Charleston. She was a loving wife, wonderful friend and the best mother of all.

Elaine is survived by her son Michael Allen Hudgins of Summerville; daughters Sandra H. Harvey (Ron) and Deborah Ann Murray (Dan) of Summerville; grandchildren Amber Sullivan (Sean) and Elizabeth Murray (Luke); great grandchildren Reagan Sullivan, Rhett Sullivan, and Grayson Sullivan. Elaine is predeceased by her brother Emile Clayton Giovanna, and grandparents Conception D. Majesty and Alphonso Majesty.
