Erika Elizabeth Starnes

Erika Elizabeth Starnes, 95, of Ladson, SC, widow of the late James Leon Starnes, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be Monday afternoon, September 30, 2019 at 1 o’clock at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. The family will receive friends after the service in the sanctuary. Burial will be Tuesday afternoon, October 1, 2019 at 2 o’clock in Sharon Memorial Park, 5400 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Erika’s name may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483, or Amedisys Hospice, 1027 Physicians Drive, Suite 240, Charleston, SC 29414.

Erika was born April 12, 1924 in Marienfelde Schlochau, W. PR. Germany, a daughter of the late William Frank Dahlmann and Anna Maria Fifelski Dahlmann. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Charlotte, NC for many years. Erika loved to crochet hats and was a member of Grace Circle at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Erika leaves behind her sons, Richard Starnes (Sherry) of Milton, FL and Wayne Starnes of Ladson, SC; daughters, Carol Bewersdorf of Ladson, SC, and Karen Benner (Robert) of Wesley Chapel, FL; sister, Ethel Martin of White Rock, SC; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. She is predeceased by her husband; and a grandson, Jorg Bewersdorf, Jr.
