Howard Roy Hartmann

Howard Roy Hartmann, 92, of Summerville, South Carolina passed away on October 15, 2018. 

He was born on December 3, 1925 in Wetzel County, WV to William D. Hartmann and Cloyie W. Hartmann. He married Ada Virginia Barnhart of St Marys, WV and they were happily married for 67 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Crewman in the Armed Forces Unit in the European Theater of Operations. He graduated from WVU with a B.S. in Forestry. He worked for Westvaco as a Forester for 37 years. He was an active member of the Society of American Foresters until his death. He always loved fishing, hunting, gardening, all things outdoors, and spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife, Ada B. Hartmann of Summerville, SC; his son, Gary Hartmann (Gay) also of Summerville, SC; daughters, Pamela H. Bullard (Ray) of Florence, SC and Joye H. Sott (Mike) of Summerville, SC; brother, Clyde Hartmann (Ruth Ann) of Franklin, TN; sister, Ruth Wells of Parkersburg, WV; and four grandchildren, Sarah Tapp, Abby Carli (Rob), Nancy Hartmann, and Brandon Sott (Morgan). He is predeceased by six sisters and three brothers.

Funeral Services will be Monday morning, October 22, 2018 at 11 o'clock in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be held in the Parlor that morning from 10 o'clock until the time of service.
