James Larry Saunders

James Larry Saunders, 84, of Summerville, SC, husband of Mary Louise Nelson Saunders, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018.

Funeral Services will be Friday morning, September 28, 2018 at 9 o'clock at Bacon's Bridge Free Worship Center. Visitation will be from 8:30 AM until the time of service at the church. The family will reassemble for burial with Military Honors at 1 o'clock at Beaufort National Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials in James' name may be made to Bacon's Bridge Free Worship Center Building Fund, 1816 Bacon's Bridge Rd, Summerville, SC 29483.

James was born February 4, 1934 in High Point, NC, the son of Archie Lee Saunders, Sr. and Georgia Manning Rule Saunders. He retired from the United States Navy after honorably serving as a Quarter Master Chief. He was a member and deacon of the Free Worship Center.

In addition to his wife, Louise Saunders of Summerville, SC, James leaves behind two sons, Larry Dean Saunders of Sarasota, FL, and James Lee Saunders of Summerville, SC; daughter, Linda Saunders, also of Summerville, SC; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents; a brother; a son, Michael David Saunders; and a granddaughter, Kimberly Cook.
