James “Jimmy” Vance Wheeler, Jr. of Summerville, SC passed away Sunday evening November 26, 2017.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1 o’clock on December 1, 2017 in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in Summerville Cemetery Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held in Parks Funeral Home Thursday evening, November 30, 2017 from 5 until 7 o’clock.
Jimmy was born in St. George, SC on Friday, June 15, 1945, the son of James Vance Wheeler, Sr. and Mildred Reeves Mallard. Jimmy was a graduate of St. George High School in 1965. He was a proud Vietnam veteran, stationed at Camp Holloway. After his service to his country, he spent 46 dedicated years with MeadWestvaco/Kapstone Lumber Mill. He was an avid music lover, especially Elvis, a history buff, and fantastic story teller.
Jimmy is survived by his fiancé Casandra C. Bilton; son, Jamie Vance Wheeler III (Lisa); daughter, Elizabeth Paige Hinton; sister, Cecile Bowzard; grandchildren, James, Luke, and Maggie Wheeler, and Sean Hinton; and aunt, Thyra Elizabeth Beaudrot. He was the widower of his wife, Rebecca Hogge Wheeler, and predeceased by his sister, Ada Lou.
