Joan Evelyn (McDowell) Chryst

Joan Evelyn Chryst, 65, of Summerville, SC, wife of Kenneth M. Chryst, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Carolinas Chapter, 1100 S. Mint Street, Suite 204, Charlotte, NC 28203.

Joan was born April 5, 1952 in Lancaster, SC, a daughter of John S. McDowell and Geraldine Tuttle McDowell. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Chryst of Summerville; daughter, Theresa D. Chryst of Summerville; 2 brothers, Robert McDowell of Goose Creek, John E. McDowell (Lynn) of Warner Robbins, GA; 1 sister, Karen Lopez (Le) of Goose Creek and many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her parents, John and Geraldine McDowell.
