John Lynwood Locklair, 96, of Summerville, husband of Amy Kate Peacock Locklair, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2019.
The visitation will be held in Parks Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon, April 27, 2019 from 12 noon until 1:30 pm. The memorial service will follow in Bethany U.M.C. Spell Chapel on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 2 o’clock. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to The Summerville Museum, 100 E. Doty Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483.
John was born in Summerville, a son of the late George W. Locklair, Sr. and Vera Knight Locklair. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force. He was an electronic technician at the Charleston Naval Shipyard, and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Amy Kate Locklair of Summerville; sons John L. Locklair, Jr. (Trish) of Easley, Michael L. Locklair and Shannon Locklair (Rose Marie) both of Summerville; daughter Melonea Locklair Marek (Mike) of Goose Creek; six grandchildren Matt, Brad, Brian, Jeremy, Allen and Nick; eleven great grandchildren Bryce, Sydni, Briggs, Wallace, Juniper, Chris, Tyler, Coralynn, Everett, Preston and Seth. He is predeceased by his brother George W. Locklair, Jr and his sisters Virginia Doots Locklair and Shirley L. Blume.
