Thomas Edward Knight, Sr., 75, of Summerville, SC, husband of Lula Diane Campbell Knight, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 after a battle with congestive heart failure and COPD.
Memorial Services will be Thursday afternoon, October 25, 2018 at 2 o'clock in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be in the Parlor from 1 o'clock until the time of service.
Tommy was born September 23, 1943 in Pascagoula, MS, a son of the late Paul Knight and Eula Evelyn Holland Knight. He attended James Island Elementary, James Island High School, and St. Leo College. He honorably served in the United States Army for 23 years, and retired as a Master Sergeant, Recruiter, with tours in Korea, Vietnam, and nine years in Germany. After many awards and accolades, he was awarded five Meritorious Service Medals and seven Army Commendation Medals. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, and Elks Lodge.
In addition to his loving wife, Lula Diane Knight, Tommy leaves behind his children, Thomas Knight, Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Steven Knight of Denver, CO, and Stephanie Knight of Atlanta, GA; step-children, James Benton and Thomas "TJ" Jefferys, both of Ladson, SC; special granddaughter, Adalyn Nicole Jefferys; brothers, Robert Knight, Gerald Knight, both of James Island, SC, Michael Knight, Donald Knight, both of Goose Creek, SC, Charles Knight of Alabama, and Larry Knight of Bonneau, SC; sister, Patsy Manns of Santee, SC; sister-in-laws, Barbara, Joyce, Jen, Linda, and Jeannette Knight; a special daughter-in-law, Teresa Knight of Atlanta; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Paul Knight, Jr. and Ron Knight; and a sister, Evelyn Davis.
