Andrea Sorenson Leonard, aged 71, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024, at her home in Summerville, SC. She was born on February 18, 1953, in Hoosick Falls, NY, to Virgil and Ellen Sorenson, and was a 1972 graduate of Stafford (CT) High School.
Andrea worked at American Tactical as a machine operator, where she was valued for her attention to detail. Andrea was an exceptional artist, whose renderings of the beauty and wonder of the flora and fauna of the natural world have been featured at Spoleto Festival USA, Southeastern Wildlife Exposition, and numerous art galleries throughout the eastern United States.
Andrea loved watching old Western TV shows and movies. She especially enjoyed talking on the phone with family and friends. She had a unique ability to make anyone smile and could always find humor in any situation. Above all, she was treasured by all who knew her for her love, compassion, and generosity.
She is survived by her son, Ian Williams, his wife, Christina, and their children, Nathan and Natalie, of Summerville, SC; her grandchildren John Pritchard Jr, Ronald Smith III, and Amber Smith of Morris AL; her sisters, Ann Smith, of Berryville, VA, and Sandra Brehl, of Croton-on-Hudson, NY; her cousin John Langland and his wife, Pat, of Summerville, SC; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends.
Andrea was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Sarajane Smith, and her husband, George Leonard.
