Andrew Plumer Obituary

Andrew Chaney Plumer, 29, of Ridgeville, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Andrew was born in La Plata, Maryland on November 25, 1994.

He was the son of Nanci Plumer-Long and Lewis C. Plumer. Andrew was many things through his 29 years of life but one constant remained and that was his love for animals. It didn’t matter if it had four legs and fur or no legs and scales, Andrew always showed animals compassion and treated them with love and care. From birth, Andrew was calm, reserved, and patient and out of four boys, his parents would agree he was the easiest to raise through infancy and his toddler years. His patience really shined in his passion for fishing. Andrew would wait hours for that one catch and after admiring his hard work, would release it back to the water to come back for another catch the following day.

Andrew loved the outdoors, whether it was wandering aimlessly through the woods as a child with his brothers or the freedom he was able to feel riding his Harley Davidson, he just wanted to be outside. Andrew was never one for video games or being stuck inside, and instead opted to find any and all kinds of adventures he could without the restrictions of four walls. Most importantly Andrew cared deeply for those around him. He would do anything for anyone in their time of need. Even in his own moments of uncertainty he would offer help and support in any way he was able to. At one point a friend from Maryland reached out expressing feelings of depression and stagnation and without hesitation Andrew offered him the chance to move to South Carolina for a fresh start, even opening his home to him until he was able to get on his feet. More than anything, his mom and family want you to know Andrew meant something to this world, his life had value, and he added value to the lives of those around him. With him gone, the world is missing a vital piece; a piece that his surviving family will never be able to fill again.

Andrew is survived by his mother, Nanci Long; father, Lewis C. Plumer; stepfather, Douglas Long; stepmother, Allison Yates; his brothers, Bryan, Tyler and Kevin Plumer; grandmother, Jobeth Thomas; his beloved dog, Buddy and his cat, Kitty.
