Anna Maria Hill

Anna Maria Baier Hill, 95, of Lebanon, homemaker and retired dietician, widow of Carl Byrd "C.B." Hill. Passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2022.

Anna was born on January 13, 1927, in Neunkirchen, Germany, a daughter of Bernard and Katarina Baier. In 1948 Anna arrived in America where she later met and married her husband C.B. They shared 65 wonderful years together. Anna enjoyed cooking for her family and baking cookies with her grandchildren every holiday. Flowers were her passion. She spent many hours working in her flower beds nurturing her extensive collection of daylilies.

Surviving are two daughters, Sadie Ann Herndon and her husband Jack of Big Lake, Minnesota. Cookie Varner and her husband Donald of Lebanon, and a son, Carl Bennett Hill and his wife Penny of Lebanon; 7 grandchildren, Adam Herndon, Travis Herndon, Seth Herndon (Marin), Shanna Saulisbury (Shane). Kirk Varner (Jordan), Chad Hill (Ashley), and Sarah Lindsey (Troy); 11 great-grandchildren, Lance Saulisbury, Ruby Herndon, Gabe Herndon. Abbie Saulisbury, Holden Hill, Parker Herndon, Cora Herndon, Evelyn Herndon, Wyatt Varner, Cullen Hill and Silas Varner. She was predeceased by a brother and four sisters.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Ruth, Michelle, and Sandy for the love and care they provided to Anna and the entire Hill family.

A Graveside service will be held at Rudd Branch Cemetery in the Lebanon Community on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 2 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Epworth Children's Home, P.O. Box 50466, Columbia, SC 29250 or to Rudd Branch Cemetery, 1222 Whitehouse Road, Summerville, SC 29486.
