Berlice was born February 23, 1940 in Vina, AL. He was the son of Bertice and Elsie Creekmore Holland.  He was the fourth child out of 15 children of Bertice and Elise.

Berlice was a well-respected man who was loved dearly by many. His favorite hobby consisted of spending time with and taking care of his family. He instilled the value of family to all of those around him. Those family values will be passed down for many generations to come. He spent 9 years dairy farming in Maine. His primary career was welding, he devoted 40 years of his life to welding. One notable act during his welding career was that he assisted in putting together the truss that helped in extracting the H. L. Hunley from the Charleston Harbor. He also used his welding expertise to create beautiful countertops in his home for him and Sandra to enjoy. While he enjoyed welding, he also enjoyed carpentry work which is also showcased in his home life. He built a beautiful floor to ceiling cabinet in his kitchen and a gazebo by the pond for Sandra and himself to enjoy. As his loving daughter would put it, “he was the MacGyver before MacGyver".

Berlice is survived by his wife Sandra Holland, daughter Loretta Reid (Paul),  son James Holland (Cyndi), Sister Nan Humphries (William), Brother Wayne Holland (Sylvia), Sister Edith Pickens (Wayne), Brother Fray Holland (Vickie), Brother Eugene Holland (Margaret), Sister Mildred Dodge (Tim), Sister Diane Medlin (Gary), Sister Kathy Garcia (Joe), Sister Sharon King (Charles – deceased), Debbie Polis (Jim – deceased), Grandchildren Trey Reid (Morgan), Kodey Holland, Andrew Reid, Savannah Reid (Keith), and Kevin Holland. Great Grandchildren Korbyn Holland (Kodey), Styles Reid (Trey and Morgan) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
