Bettye Murphy Moody, 90, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 12 o’clock noon at Bethany U.M.C. Spell Chapel, 118 West Third Street South, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends for a visitation an hour before the service. Interment will follow at Summerville Cemetery Mausoleum, 1128 Boonehill Road, Summerville, SC 29483.
Bettye was born on March 14, 1934 to the late Robert Sr., and Ethel Watson. She was an avid reader of Christian literature, a member of many church choirs, would play the hand bells at different churches, and enjoyed playing the piano. Bettye will be missed dearly by many.
Bettye is survived by her son, Randel Bryce (Velma) of Summerville, SC; sister, Donna Reed of St. Louis, MO; and 1 grandson, Jason Bryce. She is predeceased by her husband, James Moody; parents, Robert Sr., and Ethel Watson; sister, Alice Stephens; brothers, Robert Watson, Jr., and Jack Watson.
