Bonnie Sue Lucken

Bonnie Sue Lucken, 82, of Goose Creek passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 2 o’clock at Crowfield Baptist Church, 100 Hunters Ln, Goose Creek, SC 29445. In honor of Bonnie, memorials can be made to The Cancer Society, www.cancer.org or Camp Happy Days, 933 Dupont Rd Suite B, Charleston, SC 29407.

Bonnie was born on December 7, 1940 in Kingstree, SC and is the daughter of the late Hardy Brown and Esther Flowers Brown. During her lifetime she had a long career as an executive at the Charleston Naval Shipyard. Bonnie also was a longtime member of the Crowfield Baptist Church. She had a special connection to her dogs and treated them like her own children. There are no words to describe how much Bonnie loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by many.

Bonnie is survived by her son, Richard W. Martier (Kim) of Summerville, SC; daughter, Vickie Martier Matthews (Steve) of Goose Creek, SC; step-daughter, Eve Lucken of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Hardy Brown (Karen) of Kingstree, SC; sister, Maxine Etheridge of Georgetown, SC; grandchildren, Crystal Mathhews Nagel (Chris) of Charlotte, NC, Paige Matthews (Laura) of Goose Creek, SC; Richard W. Martier II of Omaha, NE, Dalton Martier of Charleston, SC; great-grandchildren, Regan Nagel. Hart Nagel, Cade Nagel, Cameryn Nagel, and Hallie Matthews. She is predeceased by her husband of many years, Leroy “Lucky” Lucken; mother, Esther Flowers Brown; father, Hardy Brown; and brother, David Sid Brown.
