Carlyle "Dean" Carnagey, Jr.

Carlyle “Dean” Carnagey, Jr., 70, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2023 at 3 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends an hour before the service for a visitation. Dean was born on September 3, 1952 and is the son of Carlyle (Carl) D. Carnagey, Sr., and the late Laverne F. Carnagey. During his lifetime Dean received a Master’s Degree and became the budget director for Trident Technical College. Dean also enjoyed photography and music.

Dean is survived by his wife, Carol Mitchell Carnagey of Summerville, SC; father, Carlyle (Carl) D. Carnagey, Sr. of El Paso, TX; daughters, Heather Overson (Tristen) of El Paso, TX, DeAnn Cope (Jay) of El Paso, TX; stepdaughters, Sheri Shea of San Antonio, TX, DeeDee Howard (Scott) of San Antonio, TX, Tracy Shaw (Bryan) of Summerville, SC; stepson, Travis Mitchell of Goose Creek, SC; sister, Linda Walker (Jerry) of Mason, OH; along with 14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
