Carol Lynn Simonsen, 62, of Summerville, SC, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021.

Carol was born on June 9, 1959 in Chicago, IL. She was the daughter of Robert Horvath and Barbara Pavlik. She enjoyed a lot of things in life like gardening, fishing, playing pool, bowling, and doing puzzles. She also enjoyed carpentry and DIY wood working projects in her free time. Carol was a big animal lover, especially rescuing dogs and making a garden home for wild birds.

Carol is survived by her husband, Harold Simonsen of Summerville, SC; mother, Barbara Breon of Sparta, TN; father, Robert Horvath (Mary) of Lisle, IL; daughters, Shari Stauch (Jeff) of Summerville, SC, Karin Kaltofen (Mike) of Summerville, SC, Johanna Franz (Brian) of Bloomingdale, IL; son Ken Simonsen (Wendy) of Elgin, IL; brother, Gary Horvath of Sparta, TN; sister, Ellen Horvath of Sycamore, IL; niece, Kayla Caffero (Kimberly) of Beaufort, SC; close friends, Donnalee Callahan (Danny) of Iron City, TN; Patti, Paul, Brittany and Nate Harris, all of Summerville, SC. Carol has 16 step-grandchildren and 6 stepgreat-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her stepchildren Erik Simonsen and Kirsten Rose Griffis.
