Carolyn Tolbert Obituary

Carolyn Murray Tolbert passed away at her home in Elgin, SC January 8, 2025. 

She was born in Summerville, SC on August 8, 1956 to the late William Mouzon Murray, Jr., and the late Miriam Stewart Murray. She is survived by her brother, Stephen S. Murray (Lassie). 

Carolyn was a 1974 graduate of Summerville High School and a 1978 graduate of Clemson University. She loved cheering on her Clemson Tigers football team. 

Carolyn was married to Kyle R. Mitchell who passed away in August 2011. And later to Barry K. Tolbert who passed away in December 2018. 

She was retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of S.C. where she was primarily in Human Resources Admin and Recruitment.  

Carolyn had a great sense of humor, loved to travel, and cooking new recipes. She will be greatly missed 

A Memorial Service will be held on April 26, 2025 at 11:00AM at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Cremation services were performed by Powers Funeral Home in Lugoff, SC.
