Christy Rourk Leggette

Christy Rourk Leggette, 48, of Summerville, SC, loving wife of Kathy Ann Burgett, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024 at her home.

Memorial Services will be Sunday afternoon, July 28, 2024 at 3 o’clock in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. Flowers will be accepted.

Christy was born April 24, 1976 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Jerry Michael Rourk and Jean Powell Cooper. She worked as a Customer Service Representative for Palmetto Propane and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies. She loved to play golf, pool volleyball, Donkey Kong, and Mario Kart, throwing green shells and bananas backwards with perfect aim. She was basically the best at anything she attempted. Christy liked to eat snacks while pretending to fish with her wife and binging every sporting event on any sports channel available. She was an avid Clemson football, softball, and baseball fan and loved terrible reality television shows, her favorite being Big Brother.

In addition to her wife, Kathy Burgett of Summerville, SC, Christy leaves behind her daughter, Haleigh Doggett (John) of Goose Creek, SC; grandsons, Carter and Cayson Doggett also of Goose Creek, SC; stepson, Robert Burgett (Mandy) of Columbia, SC; brothers, Brian Rourk of Rocky Mount, NC, Steven Cooper (Savanna) of Moncks Corner, SC, and Sean Cooper of Ladson, SC; sisters, Sheba Veeder of Atlanta, GA and Michele Bahm of Hanahan, SC; grandmother, Bessie Meadows of Rock Hill, SC; and two dogs, Dexter and Benjamin. She is predeceased by her parents.
