D. Anne Makowski

D. Anne Makowski, 84, of Summerville, SC, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday July 27, 2024 at 2:00pm at Summerville Estates Independent living center in Summerville SC. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, or the  Foundation Fighting Blindness.

Anne was born 1939 in Orange, NJ, a daughter of the late John Frederick Quirk and Dorothy Isabel Moriarty Quirk. She made a career as a Nurses Aide at Tioga County Public Health. She loved ceramics and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved reading.

Anne leaves behind her loving husband of 65 years, Paul E. Makowski of Summerville, SC; son, Paul Makowski, Jr. of Summerville, SC; Daughter in law MaryAnn Makowski of Summerville, SC; daughters, Deborah Makowski of Summerville, SC and Therese Wright of Merrimack, NH; Son in law Chris Wright of  Merrimack, NH; brother, Tom Quirk of Albuquerque, NM; sister, Kathy Jackson of Albuquerque, NM; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a great-grandson, Samuel James Saunders; and two brothers, Peter Quirk and Jack Quirk.
