Daniel Jude Mulcahy

Daniel Jude Mulcahy, 62, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 2 o’clock at St. Paul’s Anglican, 16 W Carolina Ave, Summerville, SC 29483. Visitation will be held from 12:30 to 1:30 at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Entombment will follow at Summerville Cemetery Mausoleum. Flowers are accepted.

Daniel was born on June 4, 1961 to the late Thomas G. Mulcahy and Mary Ann Messitt. He loved music, and had a passion for playing the electric bass. He also was the founder of the Shamrocks Motorcycle Club. Daniel was known for his love of entertaining and making people laugh and will be deeply missed.  He wants everyone to remember the good times together.

Dan was proud to serve his country and did so in a few ways. He served in the Marines in the early 80’s, the Coast Guard in the late 80’s.  Stationed at the Coast Guard Base in Nantucket, MA is where he met his wife, Darlene (Allessio).  He then left military life and began a lifelong career with the Government specializing in Immigration, Customs and Homeland Security. He happily retired in January 2021.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Darlene Mulcahy of Summerville, SC; daughters, Shannon Mulcahy (Jay) of Evanston, IL, Keira Mulcahy of Summerville, SC, Megan Mulcahy (Logan) of Colchester, VT; cousin, Patrick Mulcahy (Patty) of St. John’s, FL; sister, Maureen Mulcahy of Cohoes, NY. He is predeceased by his father, Thomas G. Mulcahy; mother, Mary Ann Messitt; and uncle, Joseph D. Mulcahy.
