A gathering of friends and family will be at Parks Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 from 12 to 2 pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers please make donations to pancan.org.
Deborah was born August 2, 1959 in Yonkers, NY, a daughter of the late Edward William Kristan and Phyllis Grace Wilson.
She was an incredibly loving, devoted and thoughtful Daughter, Sister, Niece, Friend, Wife, Mother, Mother-in-law, and Grandmother who loved her family and friends dearly and deeply.
In addition to her husband John J. Saager, Jr., she leaves behind her children, John J. Saager III (daughter-in-law Torey Saager), Kristan White, Keith E. Saager, and Corey M. Saager (future daughter-in-law Delaney Lamoureux); her aunt, Helen Benz; her sister, Wendy Perry; and four grandchildren, Jack and Archie Saager and Beckett and Cade White.
To her husband she was “Honey Bunny” and his best friend. She supported him in all that he did and was always there for him when he needed her. They were a partnership for over 42 years and will continue forever.
Debbie, Ma, Momma and Mom was endlessly energetic and seized each day. She was tirelessly devoted to her family, working from dawn until dusk each day to make their lives better in any way that she could. From driving her children to thousands of soccer, baseball, hockey, gymnastics and tennis practices when they were young, to sausage and peppers and BEC’s from Deb’s Deli as they grew old, Debbie was dedicated to her family. She preached hard work, kindness, honesty and showed us all how to live happy, fulfilling lives. She was incredibly proud of each of her children and cheered them on as each made their way in the world. Her grandchildren lit up her life and she was unapologetic in bragging about how great she knew they were.
“You can shed tears that she is gone
Or you can smile because she has lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left”
