Obituary

Debra Lynn Boris, 63, of Summerville, SC, wife of Thomas J. Boris, Jr., passed away Friday morning, April 1, 2022.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11 o' clock am at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church. The rite of committal will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens followed by her Celebration of Life Reception at Summerville Country Club. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 o’clock until 8 o’clock and Friday morning from 9 o’clock until 10 o’clock am at Parks Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted.

Deb was born April 19, 1958 in West Virginia, but spent most of her life in Ohio before moving south in 2009. She is the daughter of James Edward Hawks and Ruby Angelina Rife Hawks. She loved working as a Registered Nurse for Select Health, and also loved gardening, flowers, hosting parties, and anything artistic including drawing, crafting, and baking Christmas cookies. She was a history buff and enjoyed watching movies, documentaries, and any TV series. Deb held close to her the time spent with her family, especially her grandbabies, and looked forward to decorating for her favorite holidays, Easter, Christmas, and Halloween.

Deb leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years, Thomas Boris, Jr. of SC; father, James Hawks of MO; daughters, Rochelle Worley (Ben) and Brittany Boris, both of SC; nephew, Nathan Strunk of SC; sisters, Sandra Yohe (Scott) of MO and Sherry Strunk of OH; two grandchildren, Addison Worley, Aiden Worley; one grand dog, Bosa Boris; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is joined in heaven by her mother, Ruby Hawks; brothers, Darrell Hawks and Harold Hawks; and granddaughter, Aubrielle Worley.
