Grace Dianne Caldwell, 76, of Summerville, SC passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Born on February 2, 1949, in Charleston, SC, Grace Dianne Caldwell spent her early years on Folly Beach, where her father operated a shrimp boat. The ocean remained close to her heart throughout her life and became a place of joy and tradition for her children and grandchildren. She had a special love for fresh shrimp and large lobsters, and she proudly passed down the art of crabbing—along with her favorite secret spots—to the next generations.
Dianne worked in administration at the Charleston Naval Shipyard and was a member of Summerville Baptist Church. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She loved playing board games—especially Monopoly—and was known for her talent in sewing and crocheting. She often made handmade blankets and pillowcases for loved ones, and she created cherished recipe books for each of her sons, filled with her favorite family dishes.
She is survived by her sons: Travis Westbury (Melissa) of Eutawville, SC; Kevin Westbury (Krista) of Summerville, SC; and Keith Wickizer (Lindsey) of Atlanta, Georgia. She also leaves behind her brother, Wesley Ott (Minnie Anne) of North Augusta, SC; her sister, Carol Cooper (Harry) of Chapin, SC; her beloved grandchildren: Kayla Westbury, Samuel Westbury, Mason Westbury, Ryan Westbury, Ashton Westbury (Brook), Aiden Wickizer, and Henm Wickizer; and her great-grandchildren, Loghan Westbury and Acelynn Westbury.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Grace Ott; her husband, Ed Caldwell; and her brother, Richard Ott.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her generous heart, and the legacy of love and tradition she leaves behind.
