Donato Antonelli (Don) passed away peacefully at home at the age of 80 years old. He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Kathy (née Webb) and their three adult children, Donny, Kim (O’Brien) and Kathleen (O’Connor) as well as their two sons-in-law, Jim O’Brien and Billy O’Connor. Don is also survived by his seven loving grandchildren - D.J. and Genna Antonelli, Lauren O’Connor, Peyton, Emily & Shannon O’Brien, and William O’Connor, as well as his older sister Vita Settanni.
Don served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was a proud patriot who loved his country. After leaving the Air Force, Don married his high school sweetheart Kathy, began a career he loved in telecommunications and together with his wife, built a wonderful life with their children in Brooklyn, New York before retiring and relocating to their dream home in Wellington, Florida. Years spent in Florida brought Don many good memories and friendships before the decision to relocate to South Carolina to be closer to family. Don loved to work with his hands and loved to help others with projects, as well as enjoyed working in his garden and creating beautiful spaces. Don will always be remembered for the deep love he had for his wife and family, as well as his love of celebrating life everyday.
A Funeral Mass celebrating the life of Don will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at 11:00 AMat Saint John the Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483.
The family will welcome friends at a memorial service and inurnment to be held in New York at a later date.
