Edward Joseph Greene, Jr.

Edward Joseph Greene Jr., 72, United States Army Veteran and husband of Rita Greene, of Summerville, SC, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

The relatives and friends of Mr. Edward Greene are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 11:00 am, Monday, November 2, 2020, at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC, 29483. Private burial will follow in Dorchester Memory Gardens. The family will receive family and friends for visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Edward (“Ed”) was born in Ridley Park, PA on November 7, 1947. He was the son of Edward and Marie Greene (nee Crist). Ed was a decorated Green Beret who served his country proudly. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the University of Delaware. He retired from Chrysler after a successful career as an Engineering Manager. Ed enjoyed boating, scuba diving, doo-op music, and his 1976 Corvette. Ed loved spending time with his family and friends, especially Sunday dinners and holiday get-togethers. Most of all, Ed adored his children and grandchildren. Being called “Pop-pop” was the proudest honor he could ever have received.

Ed is survived by his wife, Rita Greene, and his three children, Maria (Frank), Michael (Christina), and Nicole (Will). Also, his three beloved grandchildren Eliana, Christopher, and Gianna. He is also survived by his sisters Mary D’Alonzo, Pat Crozier (Ralph), and Tom Greene (Diane).
