Elaine Denise Jones

Elaine Denise Jones, 66, of Summerville, SC, beloved wife of Chief Msgt Garry Jones, Sr., went to be with the Lord Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 12 noon at New Ashley Baptist Church, 110 New Ashley Blvd in Summerville. Burial with Military Honors will be Thursday, July 17, 2025 at 1 o’clock in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers to have donations in Elaine’s name to The Ralph Johnson Scholarship at The Citadel by visiting www.foundation.citadel.edu/ralphjohnsonscholarship.

Mrs. Jones was born June 15, 1959 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of Charles Simmons and Helen Johnson Richards. She honorably served for 20 years before retiring from the United States Air Force.

In addition to her husband, Chief Msgt Garry Jones, Sr. and mother, Helen Johnson Richards, Elaine leaves behind her son, Garry Jones, Jr; daughter, Jamaila Jones all of Summerville, SC; grandchildren, Tyriel Jones, Sr., Amani Jones, Janiya Jones, and Joh'Sawn Jones; great-grandchild, Tyriel Jones, Jr.; brother, Gregory Richards and wife Rebecca of Charlotte, NC; and sisters, Stephanie Richards of Summerville, SC and Zandria Johnson Hill and husband Rick of Manassas Park, VA. She is predeceased by her father, Charles Simmons; step-father, Francis Richards; and a sister, Keena Johnson.
