Emily Winckles

Emily Winckles, 92, of Summerville, SC, widow of the late Donald Winckles, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at her residence.

Memorial Services will be Wednesday afternoon, September 18, 2024 at 3 o’clock in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Emily’s name be made to the Donald and Emily Winckles Scholarship Fund, in care of the Trident Technical College Foundation, PO Box 61227, Charleston, SC 29419-1227. Emily was born February 11, 1932 in Liverpool, England, the daughter of the late Joseph McCarten and Lily Bell. She made a career as a housekeeper and loved gardening, line dancing, and doing water aerobics in her spare time. She was a lifelong Liverpool Football Club fan.

Emily leaves behind her son, Stephen Charles Winckles and wife Stacy of Ladson; daughter, Sharon Winckles Holden and husband Jim of Summerville; grandchildren, Devon Holden and wife Heather, and Victoria Stroble and husband Stevie; and a great-grandson, Oliver. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son, Donald Winckles.
