Ernie Allen Thompson, residing in Walterboro, SC, passed away on November 25, 2022 after battling cancer.
Born Jan 2, 1957, in Midway, SC, he was the son of the late Ealon Thompson and the late Odine Thompson. At the age of 19, he married Pamela Hammett and began working at Robert Bosch. He retired from Bosch in 2017 after 42 years of service. He was an excellent mechanic and started his own company, Ernie’s Small Engine Repairs, after retiring from Bosch. He was a deacon of North Walterboro Baptist Church and always centered his life around family, friends, and God. He enjoyed teaching and sharing his knowledge with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of forty-six years, Pamela Hammett Thompson; two children, Amanda Thompson Segura (Matt) of Summerville, and Crystal Thompson Murdaugh of Walterboro; two brothers, Ealon Thompson Jr (Ann) of Greenville, SC and Barry Thompson (Kathy) of Bowman, SC; two sisters, AlvaDean Cartin (Lavern) of Adams Run, SC and Janice Kinard of Walterboro, SC; seven grandchildren, including one that he raised as his own, Jimmy Morris Jr; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be Saturday morning, December 3, 2022 at 11 o’clock in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 10 o’clock until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ernie's name may be made to North Walterboro Baptist Church, 2177 Jefferies Hwy, Walterboro, SC 29488.
