Etta Mae Rowell, 93, of Summerville, SC, widow of the late E. Lonnie Rowell, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023.
Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer by visiting www.komen.org.
Etta was born December 12, 1930 in Dorchester County, SC, the daughter of the late Clarence P. Charpia and Ronnie M. Johnson. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sons, Lloyd Clayton (Ellen) of Hanahan, SC, Hendrix Rowell (Bettie) of Bonaire, GA, and Marcus Rowell (Jamie) of Summerville, SC; daughters, Wanda Hilton (Carl) of Summerville, SC, Sallie Barfield of Ridgeville, SC, and Melinda Van Sickle (Mark) of Dorchester, SC; brother, Ray Charpia (Janet) of Summerville, SC; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a daughter, Deborah Grove; sister, Juanita Lemay; brother, Terrell Charpia; and a granddaughter, Michele Singletary.
