Frank Huckaby Obituary

Francis (Frank) Wearon Huckaby, 78, husband of the late Cynthia “Cindy” Huckaby, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Williamsburg, VA, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. The relatives and friends of Frank Huckaby are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Bethany United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM, Friday, December 2, 2022, at Parks Funeral Home, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. A second visitation will be Monday Dec. 5th at 1:00p at Acree Davis Funeral Home, 90 South Pond Street Toccoa, GA, with a graveside service to follow at 3pm at Stephen’s Memorial Gardens, 6448 Big A Road Toccoa, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the employee appreciation fund at the Villages of Summerville, 209 W. 9th North Street, Summerville, SC 29483.  Frank was born in Toccoa, Georgia on July 23, 1944. He was the son of Wearon and Frances Huckaby. Growing up in Toccoa, Georgia, Frank worked for his father’s company, Tugalo Construction. After graduating high school, he attended Truett-McConnell College then went on to play football at Ole Miss. While he never quite finished Ole Miss, Frank’s entrepreneurial spirit led him through many business ventures until Frank, Cindy and the girls moved to Williamsburg, where he co-founded CinTer Construction and went into commercial real estate with Ewell Industrial Park. A devoted Baptist and member of Walnut Hills Baptist Church, he lived a life of hard work, faith, fun, and laughter. Many would say Frank’s favorite hobby was teasing others in a way only he could get away with. He was a lifelong Clemson fan and always the life of the party. He had a big personality, a bigger heart, and a laugh that will not be soon forgotten. Frank is survived by his daughters, Jessa Carter (Jeff) of Summerville, SC and Lauren Jones (Dutch) of Williamsburg, VA; grandchildren, Huck Carter and Reese Carter of Summerville, SC, and Hayes Jones of Richmond, VA; sister, Peggy Mellichamp (Rae); brother, Barry Huckaby (Cathy); nieces, Jennifer Mellichamp, Hope Hunt and Honor Huckaby and nephews, Jonathan Mellichamp, Micah Huckaby, Daniel Huckaby and Joseph Huckaby. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Huckaby; parents, Wearon and Frances Huckaby and his mother-in-law, Janelle Darnell. The family would like to recognize the staff at The Village of Summerville for their exceptional care, especially Vickie, Jessica, Lisa, Mary, Eartha, Claire, Diana, Kim H, Dr. Blackwelder, and Dr. Weber. Additional thanks to Karen and Donna of Bayada MUSC Hospice. Arrangements by PARKS FUNERAL HOME, 130 W. 1st. North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. www.parksfuneralhome.com.
