Gary “Bud” Randolph Hurley, a remarkable individual who lived by the motto “Live and Let Live,” passed away at the age of 88 in Summerville, South Carolina. His life was filled with diverse experiences: from serving in the Army Reserves as a young man to becoming a successful builder and owning his own construction company in Maryland. Gary’s passion for flying led him to become a certified pilot, and even during retirement, he remained active as a craftsman who loved working outdoors.
Gary’s legacy includes his first wife, Shirley E. Hurley, with whom he shared nearly 54 years of marriage. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda J. Hurley, as well as his son, Gary Jr., Gary’s wife Leslie and their three sons, his daughter Barbara J. Gochenour and her husband Eddie, and two stepdaughters, Tamera S. Hartman and Kimberly D. Conley. His dog and loyal companion, Jackson, was by his side until the end.
In honor of Gary, a private ceremony will be held by his family and loved ones.
