George was born in Charleston, South Carolina on July 19, 1932. He was the son of George and Claudia Stall. George and the Stall family are descendants of the original settlers of Summerville. The area of Stallsville was named after his family who owned property and lived there by the early 19th Century. George was a 1950 graduate of Summerville High School. After graduating, he joined the SC National Guard for a brief time. He then went to work with his father on the construction of the Salisbury Brick Corporation in Summerville. He learned the skill of welding when he was employed at Merrit Dredging Company in Charleston. Afterward, he went to the Charleston Naval Shipyard where he retired as a Nuclear Submarine Welder Special and received several awards.

After retirement, he worked at Old Fort Baptist Church as a Maintenance supervisor. George was a cornerstone and lifelong member of Bethany United methodist Church. His great grandfather was the founder and pastor of the Bethany Southern United Methodist Church in Summerville. George’s labor of love over the years was restoring his 1885 historic home. Above all, George was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather (Dee-Dee). George is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis Wheeler Stall; daughters, Jennifer Stall Albo (Harold) of Summerville, SC and Janene Stall Keefe (Clifford) of Greer, SC and his grandchildren, Harrison Stall Albo, Bryson Allen Keefe (Faith), Hayden Charles Albo and Bethany Hanna Keefe.
