Geraldine Poole Harmon also known as “Geri” was born on January 5, 1933 in Lyons, GA. She is the daughter of the late Arnold and Willie Poole. On February 14, 1954 Geraldine married the love of her life, James “Bob” R. Harmon. They spent 67 loving years together, creating their home, family and life together. She was known as a homemaker, caregiver and was also an amazing cook. Geraldine was very artistic and had a lot of experience in painting with watercolors as well as china painting. She spent many years as a member of the Summerville Art Guide and would participate in being an art judge at the Coastal Carolina Fair. Most importantly, Geraldine was a lover of god, and during the time of her diagnosis there was one verse that spoke deeply to her: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7.
Geraldine is survived by her three children, Harriet H. Stephen (Graham) of St. George, SC. Janet H. Strickland of Ruffin, SC, and James A. Harmon (Kim) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; along with 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her loving husband, James “Bob” R. Harmon; and son in law, John D. Strickland.
