Gerlean F. (Giles) Hathaway

Gerlean F. Hathaway, 81, wife of Nelson C. Hathaway, of Summerville, SC passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at Parks Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 3:30 pm. Burial will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday at Parks Funeral Home from 5 – 7 pm. Flowers will be accepted.

Gerlean was born Tuesday, March 3, 1936 in Commerce, GA, a daughter of Alfred Lee Giles and Golmer Wilson Giles. She was a retired clothing inspector for Berkeley Manufacturing. She was a member of Living by Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Nelson C. Hathaway of Summerville; daughter, Cynthia Sims of Summerville; brother, Olen Giles (Kaye) of North Charleston; sister, Shirley Jones of Ladson; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Sims, Stephanie Elswick (Jonathan) all of Summerville; and 1 great grandson, Aiden Elswick.
