Helene Hamon Bailey

Helene (Helen) Hamon Bailey, 91, wife of the late Bill E. Bailey, of Summerville, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on Friday, February 9, 2024. The relatives and friends of Helen Bailey are invited to attend her Memorial Service at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Moncks Corner Pentecostal Holiness Church, 207 Newell St, Moncks Corner, SC 29461. Helen, affectionately known as Nonnie, was born in Henryetta, Oklahoma on July 3, 1932. She was the daughter of Pad and Eula Hamon. She had so many friends and they all meant so much to her. Although she could be a little feisty, she enjoyed visiting and talking on the phone to her many friends and family members. Helen had a green thumb and loved taking care of her plants. She was a woman of faith and attended church most every Sunday for most of her adult life and was always ready to help those in need. Helen loved collecting angels, and everyone joked that her home was like heaven because there were angels everywhere. She enjoyed making cakes for her friends and loved playing games with her grandkids and great grandkids. Helen is survived by her daughter, Diane Ilderton (Mark) of Atlanta, Georgia; 3 granddaughters, Shannon Moats (Michael) of Smyrna, GA, Lauren Betancourt (Bryan) of Acworth, GA, and Mandy Ohman (Chad) of Nashville, TN; 10 great grandchildren, Madison Moats, Bailey Betancourt, Marleigh Moats, Ella Ohman, Cullen Ohman, Blake Betancourt, Chandley Ohman, Brooke Betancourt, Grant Ohman and Wyatt Ohman and well as her brother, Rev. B.G. Harmon and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her older sister, Betty Lankford of North Charleston, SC; her brother, Pat Hamon of North Charleston, SC; her sister, Wanda Kirkland, of Hanahan, SC; her twin sister, Ilene Mullins of Shannon, MS and her brother, Bobby Hamon of Goose Creek, SC.
