Obituary
James Francis McDonald, 80, of Summerville, passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2023.
James was born in Charleston, SC on July 27, 1943. He was the son of Henry and Laura McDonald, Sr.
He honorably served the US Army during the Vietnam War, and returned to Charleston, where he enjoyed a successful career in real estate.
He is survived by his daughters, Christina Smith and Lisa (Kris) Gibson; grandchildren, Haley Smith, Jackson Smith, Austin Gibson, Sarah Gibson and Meredith Gibson; siblings, Henry McDonald, Jr. and Laura Leppert; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Penny, father Henry, and mother Laura.
The relatives and friends of James Francis McDonald are invited to attend his Visitation from 4-6 PM, Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, September 3, 2023, at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, 316 W Carolina Ave, Summerville, SC 29483.
