James “Jim” Charles Scott, 70, retired veteran of the United States Army and husband of Sonceria Scott, of Summerville, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021.
The relatives and friends of James Scott are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at the graveside, Ft. Jackson National Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
James was born in Huntsville, Alabama on September 24, 1950. He was the son of Charles and Lillian Scott. He served his country for 22 years in the U.S. Army, including a tour in the Vietnam Conflict. He then continued his law enforcement career as a Charleston County Deputy Sheriff for 19 years. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and cooking on the grill for friends and family. He was a Mason and belonged to Hammerton Lodge in North Charleston, SC.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sonceria Kim Scott of Summerville; daughter, Sabrina Paczkowski (spouse Corey) of Greensboro, NC; son, Jonathan Scott of Summerville; daughter, Aimee Scott (spouse Thomas) of Magnolia, TX; grandchildren Ashley Misuraca, Elena Misuraca, Sofia Misuraca, Ava Paczkowski, Gabriel Scott, and Lylah Scott; sister Francis Kay Walker; and nephews Larry Walker II and Porter Walker. James was predeceased by his father Charles Scott, and mother Lillian Scott
