James Jay Skiles

James Jay Skiles, 63, husband of Donna Skiles, of Moncks Corner, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.

The relatives and friends of James Skiles are invited to attend his Memorial Service at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Parks Funeral Home, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. Flowers will be accepted.

James was born in Elmira, New York on June 3, 1958. He was the son of Robert and Gay Skiles. He loved fishing on his boat, woodworking and building things in his shop, working out in his yard and spending time with his friends and family. He was the Hull Shop Department Head at Detyens Shipyards, Inc. for 20 years and just retired in 2021.

James is survived by his wife, Donna Skiles; his children, James Skiles, Jr. (Amy), Amanda Gillespie (Ray), Michelle Rohm (Mike), and Michael May; stepsons, Stephen Voges (Sarah) and Christopher Voges (Kelly); his grandchildren, Naomi Skiles, Jack Skiles, Grayson Gillespie, Adaline Voges, Lance Voges and Logan Voges; his siblings, Dennis Skiles (Teresa Dow), Donna Whitaker, Bonnie Solomon, Robert Skiles, Jr. (Sheila), Joseph Skiles (Denise) and Peggy Williams (Bill); his brother in law, Dan Haggerty along with multiple nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Gay Skiles and his in laws, Don and Marilyn Haggerty.
