Jeanne (Lotz) Thrower

Jeanne Lotz Thrower, 92, of Summerville passed away peacefully in her home on Monday May 5, 2025.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 11:30AM at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 206 Central Ave, Summerville, SC 29483.  The service will also be live-streamed at https://vimeo.com/event/5113985. Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd, Summerville, SC 29485. In honor of Jeanne, memorials can be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Jeanne was born on July 23, 1932 in Summerville, SC to the late Martin and Ermine Lotz. She married the love of her life Larry L. Thrower, Sr. on October 28, 1950. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church her entire life, attending faithfully and found great joy in her faith community. She enjoyed spending many summers with her family and friends at Folly Beach, taking long walks, being with her many special friends and had a lifelong love of reading. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren and held them close to her heart.

Jeanne is survived by her sons, Larry L. Thrower, Jr., of Summerville, SC, James Edward Thrower (Wendy) of Hanahan, SC; daughter, Allyson Thrower Duke (Bill) of Summerville, SC; sister, Winifred Joyce Salisbury; along with grandchildren, William L. Duke (Laura), Griffin Thomas Thrower; and great-grandchildren William Gibbes Duke and Eleanor Talbot Duke.  She is predeceased by her parents, Martin and Ermine Lotz; husband, Larry L. Thrower, Sr.; grandson, Edward Legare Thrower; along with 8 brothers and sisters.
