Jennifer Kay Hattayer, born April 14, 1975, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 25, 2026. Jennifer lived a life marked by gentleness, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation.
An avid gardener, Jennifer found joy in tending to the earth and spending time outdoors surrounded by nature. She often marveled at the wonder of creation, finding peace and renewal in the simplest moments under the open sky. Her love of wind chimes was well known to those close to her—she cherished the soothing melodies they carried on the breeze, sounds that brought calmness to her spirit and to all who visited her home.
Jennifer is survived by her beloved daughter, Emily Hattayer of Charleston, SC; her parents, FM and Karen Swanson of Summerville, SC; her fiancé, Alan Byers; and her dear friend, Linda Byers, both of Goose Creek, SC. Each of them carries forward the memory of her kindness, her quiet strength, and the love she so freely gave.
Jennifer’s life was a gift to all who knew her, and her presence will be deeply missed. May her soul rest in the eternal peace of the One she faithfully loved.
