Jerry was born in Granite City, Illinois on June 25, 1954. He was the son of Walter Ray and Vivian Delores Cundiff. He took pride in everything he did, but his greatest source of achievement was far and away his family. He fiercely loved them and they, him. He prioritized them above all else and there is no extent to what he would do for them. He had a passion for BBQ. He loved working on his technique and perfecting his recipes. Those close to him loved reaping the benefits of his constant efforts. His love of life shone through his sense of humor, an acquired taste to some, but mostly “dad jokes” once they became apparent. He had a joy for bowling. He proved a formidable opponent to his friends, family and the many leagues he bowled in throughout the years. He spent much of his time tending to his garden, but I’m sure he’d tell you he’d rather be fishin’.
He is survived by his eternally loving wife, Rosalita Cundiff; three children, Catherine Cundiff, Rosalie Martin (Jason), and Jeremy Cundiff (Ashleigh Jacobs); two grandchildren, Tristen Burns and Amiyah Martin; his brother, John Cundiff and sister Jean Baxter. He is preceded in death by his father, Walter Cundiff; his mother Vivian Cundiff; his sister JoAnn Martin and nephew Jason Cundiff.
