John H. Clayton, Sr.

John H Clayton, Sr., 94, of Ridgeville, SC, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2021.

The relatives and friends of John Clayton are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 31, 2021, at the graveside, Cummings Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church. Flowers will be accepted.

Due to COVID19, everyone in attendance is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing. John was born October 25, 1926 in Givhans, SC, a son of the late Adam H. Clayton and Julia Parler Clayton. He was a retired game warden for the S. C. Department of Natural Resources (DNR). John enjoyed hunting, fishing and farming.

John leaves behind his son, John H. Clayton Jr.; daughter, Peggy C. Trotter (Ronnie), all of Ridgeville, SC; sister, Betty Freeman, of Brooklet, GA. He is predeceased by his wife, Margaret Clayton, two brothers and five sisters.
