John Edward Eaddy

John Edward Eaddy, 77, of Summerville SC, passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at Trident Medical Center in North Charleston, SC surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in Spartanburg County, South Carolina on October 9, 1946. He was the son of the late Mildred Turner Eaddy and Ernest Johnson Eaddy Sr. John attended GA Military Academy and graduated from Spartanburg High School. He also attended Spartanburg Methodist College and Wofford College in Spartanburg. John received his certification from the New York Institute of Finance as a young man and loved all aspects of finance and the stock market his entire life. He also held numerous NC and SC insurance licenses for health, annuities, and catastrophic adjusting. History was another passion and he and Laura traveled extensively all over the old west visiting historical western towns.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Laura Keatley Carey; Children, Kitt Eaddy Lande of Jupiter FL; Elizabeth Eaddy Davidson (Ivey) of Lynchburg, VA; Stepchildren, Ashley Carey Hayes (Adam) of Simpsonville, SC; Rebecca Carey McKinnon (Randy) of Greensboro, NC; and Tripp Carey (Allison) of Charleston, SC; Grandchildren, Lilly Lande, Nate Lande, and Luke Lande of Jupiter, FL; Taylor Davidson of Lynchburg, VA; Vivi Hayes and Jackson Hayes of Simpsonville, SC; Brayden Leonard and Eli Leonard of Greensboro NC. John was preceded in death by his brother Ernest Johnson Eaddy Jr. As per his wishes, John was cremated and a celebration of his life will be at a later date.
