Joseph Vincent Cruice, 66, of Summerville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 6 o'clock at Parks Funeral Home, 130 West 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in honor of Joseph to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, www.donate.nami.org.
Joseph was born on May 8, 1958, to the late Peter and Lavinia Cruice. During his lifetime Joseph accomplished many things. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for many years. After leaving the military, Joseph went and received his Bachelor’s Degree and then went back to school to earn his Master’s Degree in Science of Human Services. He utilized his degrees and took great pride in his work as a social worker at Compeer of Suburban Philadelphia, Indian Creek Foundation, and as a church youth minister. Joseph became a dad of three; John, Tony, and Alise. He loved his kids more than words could ever describe. He also took great pride in becoming a grandfather to his two grandchildren; Harvest and November. They brought so much joy and laughter into his life. He was an avid martial artist earning 2nd-degree black belts and loved to show off his moves. Joseph also was a loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was silly, kind, loving, and took great joy in helping people in need. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
Joseph is survived by his three children, Anthony Joseph Cruice (Natalie), John Peter Cruice, and Alise Marie Cruice; grandchildren, Harvest and November; sisters, Cecilia Bowman, and Bernadette Williams (Edward); along with four nieces and one nephew. He is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Lavinia Cruice; brothers, Peter and Paul Cruice; and a nephew, Edward Willis Williams, III.
