Larry Joe Turner, 77, of North Charleston, SC, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, November 22, 2021.
A Memorial Service will start at 2 o'clock Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Parks Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from half after 12 o'clock until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Fischer House of Charleston, 150 Wentworth Street, Charleston SC, 29401.
Larry was born August 4, 1944 in Gaffney, SC, the son of Ernest Turner and Grace Turner. He honorably served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served in the Army Special Forces as a Senior Parachutist with 101st Airborne Division. After leaving the Army, he had a successful career in the Automotive Finance industry spanning more than 40 years, the majority of that time was spent with the Ford Motor Credit Company. In his free time, he enjoyed being on the boat and spending time on the water, golfing with his sons and friends, and listening to live music while always trying to perfect his air guitar skills. Most importantly, Larry was a family man who loved nothing more than his wife and three sons.
Larry is survived by his wife, Virginia "Jini" Turner; sons, Andrew "Drew" Turner (Leslie), Daniel "Spencer" Turner (Merli), Matthew Turner (Leah); brother, Johnny Turner; grandchildren, Ava Turner, Luukas Turner, and Sullivan "Winn" Turner and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Ernest and Grace Turner, and his sisters Shirley Bright and Judith McCraw.
