Marcia Louise Palmer

Marcia Louise Palmer, 83, of Summerville, SC, formerly of Percy Street, Charleston, SC, passed away December 16, 2023.

Graveside Services will be Tuesday afternoon, January 16, 2024 at 1 o’clock in St. Peter Cemetery, 2660 Spruill Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marcia Louise Palmer may be made to the St. Patrick Women’s Guild Club or St. Patrick Catholic Church, Pastoral Center, 127 St. Philip Street, Charleston, SC 29403.

The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 12 noon until 2 o’clock at Parks Funeral Home.

Marcia was born June 9, 1940 in Charleston, SC, a daughter of the late Henry Nathaniel Palmer and Marcia Marie Middleton. She retired from the Charleston Fire Department as a dispatcher, and was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church Women’s Guild and the SC Council of Catholic Women.

Survivors include her brothers, Mr. Frank Anthony Palmer of Charleston, SC and Mr. Bernard Joseph Palmer of Cave Junction, OR; sisters, Mrs. Catherine Palmer Macbeth (Cornelius) of Charleston, SC, Mrs. Thomasina Palmer Campbell-Williams of Ladson, SC, Mrs. Paulette Palmer Elmore (Jim) of Summerville, SC, Mrs. Mary E. Palmer Grimes (Ronald) of Tampa, FL, Mrs. Sylvia Palmer Smashum (David) of Kingsland, GA, and Mrs. Juanita Palmer Baker (Earl) of Summerville, SC. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by two brothers, Mr. Henry Ralph Palmer (Willa) and Mr. John Peter Middleton Palmer (Donna).
