Marijon (Sarantos) Hester

Marijon S. Hester, 97, of Summerville, SC, widow of the late John B. Hester, passed away Sunday, March 28, 2021.

Graveside Services will be Thursday morning, April 1, 2021 at 12 o’clock noon in St. Paul’s Summerville Anglican Church. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5 o’clock until 7 o’clock at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted.

Marijon was born November 28, 1923 in St. George, SC, the daughter of the late John George Sarantos and Mary “Minnie” Etta Hart. She was a homemaker and member of a garden club. She attended art school in Japan and loved all things about its’ culture. She enjoyed making flower arrangements, interior decorating, painting, and doll making.

Survivors include her son, James M. Hester of Florence, SC; grandchildren, John D. Hester, Jr. (Missy) of Midway, GA, Peyton R. Glover (Kyle) of Kinston, NC, and Wyatt N. Hester of Conway, SC; great-grandchildren, Brittany N. Slayton (Cody) of Summerville, GA, John D. Hester III “Trip” of Dalton, GA, Timothy J. Hester “Josh” of Dalton, GA, Bradley M. Ballinger of Springfield, GA, Noah P. Glover of Kinston, NC, and Luke O. Glover of Kinston, NC; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son John D. Hester, Sr.
