Marilyn Wilmore Sullivan, 94, of Summerville, SC, passed away peacefully at home Monday morning with her children present. Marilyn was born August 2, 1930, in Charlotte, MI, the daughter of Gladys and Clifford Wilmore. She spent her childhood on the family farm off Moyer Rd. with her six brothers: Carroll, Cleland, Norman, Max, Gary, Clare and sister Margery. After graduating from Charlotte High School, she met and married Thomas J. Sullivan Sr. from Detroit. They started life together, heading south for opportunity and to start a family. Together they raised five children. She is survived by daughter Theresa S. Blitch, son Thomas J. Sullivan Jr (Lynda), daughter Tonya J. Sullivan, daughter Marie S. Williams (Thomas) and son Matthew W. Sullivan, grandchildren Tom W. Williams (Hannah), Mary Grace Williams Hubbard (John), Molly Marie Williams, Thomas J. Sullivan III (Virginia Ann), Colin W. Sullivan (Natalie), Patrick C. Sullivan, Richard Bass Williams Jr, Bryan Thomas Blitch (Courtney) and eight great grandchildren; her brother Clare Wilmore (Joyce), extended family Phyllis Wilmarth Sullivan, as well as numerous beloved nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by her husband, her grandson Ned B. Williams and sons-in-law Bryan T. Blitch and Richard B. Williams Sr.

She was a longtime member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church, where she was a member of the St. John’s Woman’s Club, serving on the Bereavement Team, cleaning and ironing the church linen, and making layette baskets for expecting mothers.

The family would like to honor Mrs. Wanda Brown for the friendship, companionship and love that she extended to our mother. We are forever grateful you came into our lives. We also would like to thank Mrs. LeaAndre Roberts for her assistance and care. We would also like to thank Traditions Health Hospice for their compassionate and dedicated care of our mother as well as Fox Rehabilitation.

The family will receive friends at Parks Funeral Home, West 1st North Street, Summerville, Tuesday May 20th from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John the Beloved Catholic Church of Summerville Tuesday May 27th at 10:00 am with a reception following in Madden Hall.

In lieu of flowers, may we suggest memorials be made to Meals on Wheels of Summerville (mowsummerville.org) or the League of Woman Voters (lwv.org).

Per their wishes, our parents will be interred in Gresham Cemetery, Charlotte, MI. at a later date.
