Mark Anton Stewart, Sr., 52, of Summerville, South Carolina, loving husband of Linda Jacinto Stewart, together 25 years, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 surrounded by his family.

Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 12:30 PM in Parks Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of service and flowers are accepted.

Mark was born on March 4, 1974, in Bury St. Edmunds, England. He was the son of Jimmy Charles and Lynn-Marie Howard, and father, John Alfred Mearns. During his time in the military, he was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice.  He happily served his community for Dorchester County Government as a building inspector for the last eight years.

Mark found joy in the simple things in life. He loved fishing, gardening, music, and dancing. He enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the ocean, riding his motorcycle, cooking and grilling for his loved ones, and spending time outdoors. One of his favorite pastimes was target shooting on his property. Mark was also a passionate football fan and proudly supported the Carolina Gamecocks and the Denver Broncos.

Above all, Mark cherished his family. He loved spending time with those closest to him and creating memories that will forever be treasured.

In addition to his loving wife, Linda J. Stewart of Summerville, SC, Mark is survived by his parents, Lynn-Marie and Jimmy Howard of Summerville, SC; his sons, Michael C. Stewart and Mark A. Stewart, Jr.; his daughters, Brionna N. Torres, Elizabeth M. Stewart, and Melina A. Stewart, all of Summerville, SC; his brother, Nathan Howard of Tampa, FL; his sister, Dawn Mearns of London, England; and his brother, Mark Mearns of Hertfordshire, England. He is also survived by his beloved grandson, Matteo K. Torres.
